Chorus Women's Camp
On April 5-7, 2002
Chorus Snowboards and High Cascade teamed up to do the first Annual Chorus
Women’s Snowboard Camp. During the three-day event at Mt. Bachelor,
women from all over the Northwest congregated for instruction from the
best in the industry. Chorus Snowboards Team Rider’s Leslee Olson,
Roberta Rodgers, and their infamous new amateur rider, Mercedes Nickel
joined HCSC’s own women coaches to provide snowboard coaching for
23 women rider’s of all ages and abilities.
The Chorus Snowboard team really set the vibe for the weekend and it couldn’t
have been better. The camp was overwhelmed with positive spirits and progressive
attitudes, which holds true as the foundation for women’s snowboarding
today. It rain/snowed on both Saturday and Sunday, but no one seemed to
notice. The girls charged the entire weekend with no regard to nature’s
rude manners.
To say the least, the camp was amazing. Look for dates for next year to
include an early winter session, to kick off the season and a spring camp
during Boarding for Breast Cancer.
